One circuit. Seven ways to run it.

From the full Grand Prix lap to a floodable skidpan, Sydney Motorsport Park is engineered to reconfigure — two circuits can race at once, day or night.

The engineering story

Built to be reconfigured.

The Gardner GP circuit is the spine of everything. Add the 830-metre southern extension and it becomes Brabham — the longest, hardest lap on the property. Split it at the link road and it becomes two independent racetracks, Druitt North and Amaroo South, each with its own pit lane, running at the same time.

Beside the racing line sit a 9,000 m² floodable skidpan, a figure-8 skid circuit and a 4WD terrain course — so the venue trains drivers as readily as it crowns champions. Every layout runs anti-clockwise, under permanent LED light.

Four circuits, four characters.

The same tarmac, four distinct personalities — from 200 km/h commitment to thirteen corners of patience. Know the line before you get here.

Circuit 01 · The Flagship

Gardner GP Grand Prix Circuit · est. 1990

The original Grand Prix lap that made Eastern Creek famous — refined in the 2012 redevelopment and renamed for Wayne Gardner, the 1987 World Motorcycle Champion. It opens with the most committed corner in Australian motorsport: tipping into Turn 1 at close to 200 km/h.

  • T1Moffat CornerThe 200 km/h right-hander — nerves of steel required. Named for Allan Moffat, 2017.
  • T2Bond BendHard on the anchors out of the fastest part of the lap. Named for Colin Bond, 2017.

Brabham Extended Circuit · +830 m

Named in honour of Sir Jack Brabham, the extended circuit grafts 830 metres of twisting, rising and falling tarmac onto the Grand Prix lap. It branches away after Turn 7 and rejoins at Turn 14 — eighteen corners over 4.5 km, the longest configuration on the property.

  • T8–9The CrestBlind over the top — commitment before the road falls away.
  • T11The HairpinDownhill approach into the heaviest braking zone at the venue.

Druitt North Circuit · est. 2011

The first product of the redevelopment: a link road joining Turn 4 to Turn 9 turns the northern half of the property into its own racetrack. Eight corners, a banked right-hander, a blind crest and sub-minute laps — short, fast and relentless.

  • LinkThe CutThe T4 → T9 link road, completed October 2011 — the key that splits the circuit.

Amaroo South Circuit · est. 2012

Thirteen corners in 1.8 kilometres — nowhere to rest, nowhere to hide. Completed in May 2012 with the venue's second pit lane, the South Circuit carries the name of the beloved Amaroo Park and is what makes two-circuits-at-once possible.

Good to know

Frequently asked.

A road-registered or race-prepared car in sound condition, a helmet and a drive-day booking. Sessions are graded by experience, and no competition licence is needed for track days — instructors are available if it's your first time.

Yes — dedicated ride days run across the Gardner GP and shorter layouts, with groups graded from first-timers to racers. Full leathers and an approved helmet are required; gear hire is available on selected dates.

Every configuration runs anti-clockwise — from the 11-turn Gardner GP lap to the 13-turn Amaroo South club circuit. The skidpan, Figure 8 and 4WD track operate to their own session formats.

Yes — that's the point of the 2012 redevelopment. The link road splits the venue into Druitt North and Amaroo South, each with its own pit lane and race control, so two events can run simultaneously.

Every layout is available for exclusive hire — racing, testing, product launches, filming and corporate drive days, supported by pit garages, suites and trackside hospitality. The team will match a configuration to your format.

Permanently. SMSP's LED floodlighting covers the racing surface, making it one of the few venues in the country to host championship racing after dark — night events run across racing, ride days and experiences.
